The "ever changing" style of the RACS' sound comes not only from combining advanced digital software technology with classic vintage analog hardware... It also comes from thousands of hours of field recording and untold studio time spent experimenting with breaking the conventional rules of sound design (and sometimes even some self-admitted, jackass-like, late night, mind altered, "you really shouldn't do that to the equipment" recording sessions).
Whatever it takes... At Rick Allen Creative Services, we push the sonic envelope to the limits with the latest in digital recording systems. We also know the secret to grabbing the listener's attention. We have one of the largest collections of custom-built signal processing gear and classic vintage analog synthesizers. This vintage gear when combined with the digital domain makes the difference in the sounds we create. We operate out of several ProTools HD recording rooms along with multiple custom PC based sound design stations. This combination of digital and analog gear along with an incredible creative team is how we became known as the place to turn for great radio imaging.
A custom built Moog Modular System, ARP 2600, Oberheim Xpander, multiple Mini Moogs, hand-built MIDI to Control Voltage Converters, and the knowledge of how they all work fill the main studio at RACS.
